With reference to my other blog about the $2 dollar tube story , the following link is another discovery by LUX testing a £12 highbay light. The repercussion could be worst due to the high ceiling installation. Is it worth it?
LED Lighting is a long lasting energy saving product. For many, it could last a lifetime if operated a few hours a day.
From lighting manufacturers, distributors, resellers, installers, purchasers and maintenance business; it is not a recurring business. It is bad for business.
The new trend is to engineer LED lighting so that they could have a shorter life. No certification or standard can protect the consumer. It is a choice.
In most cases, it is the building owner who will suffer the repurcussion. Is it worth it?
